  Trim/doors

Painting the trim/doors will be done differently, depending on whether we are also painting the walls. With that in mind, we are offering a short description of the preparation involved.

Occupied properties                                                                             

 

Ø  Remove doors, catches, door knobs and hinges( excluding pass-through doors)

Ø  Set up spray area, in garage, with light weight plastic, drops and/or heavy paper. Floors and walls ect…

Ø  Clean and de-gloss trim, base, crown, doors and window sills

Ø    Fill all nail holes and repair any damage

Ø Sand surface

Ø  Caulk all miter joints and door casings as needed

Ø  Prime all raw wood.

 

Unoccupied properties and/or new construction                             

 

Ø  Remove doors, catches, door knobs and hinges( excluding pass-through doors)

Ø  Set up spray area, with light weight plastic,drops and/or heavy paper. Floors and walls ect…

Ø  If previously painted clean and de-gloss trim, base, crown, doors and window sills

Ø  Fill all nail holes and repair any damage

Ø  Sand all surfaces

Ø  Caulk all miter joints and door casings

Ø Tape all hinges if doors have not been removed

Ø  Prime / Undercote
